Good to catch up with you, Pip, the girls, the packing and all.
As Micawber (sp?) of David Copperfield used to say..."Something will turn up."
Having your kits around as you pack must help you to stay calm with this most tedious of jobs.
It sounds like Hildie cat's purrsonality is blossoming. Spelling pun intended. It will take the cats a while to get used to their new digs, but they will eventually come to really love their new home once everyone is settled into the new routine in the new digs.
oh yeah, I hear you abt the joys of moving....or lack there of :(
its not a fun time, its dang hard work....one I'm not looking forward to even thinking abt right now, my move WILL be to a retirement dwelling which means discarding many treasures.
I've got my fingers crossed for you Pip that a job and housing will soon work out in your favor. its been a long go of it for you and the girls without mama cat...
just keep on apacking, remember unpacking is much more fun...hugs to the girls ((>^.^<))
Good evening!
Anita says that Hildie is channeling the "Surfer Dude" part of Kessie's personality. Just maybe Kessie is purring in Hildie's ear, "It's alright sister, dad cat is trying to help."
Next move is going to be to our retirement dwelling. I'm going to start saving up to have someone else do the packing right after I find work at the other end.
I am harboring a deep and abiding loathing of all things cardboard. Otherwise, 3rd Pack Rat® container is about 1/2 full. Looks like we'll need an ABF You Pack® truck to finish off.
Still just possibilities for both housing and a job for me at the other end.
It'll work out, I'm hoping the girls and I will join Anita the 2nd or 3rd week of October.
thx for the update...was wondering how Miss Hildie was doing....she is such a dear sweetie to be so patient.........
I'm glad all is going well for her and there won't be any issues. You'll have to tell us how the packing is going Pip, anxious to get moved and all the household back together :))
Miss Hildie continues to act very good and keeps still during the shot, then enjoys her little bit of milk and couple of kitty treats.
After reading one of the sites Opus suggested, I did notice Miss Hildie was a little wobbly in the hind quarters, but seems a little steadier these past few days.
Happy for the good reports
I wish my girls were so found of brushing now that is "fur ball season" again here.Joy let me brush always the same side and Lucky wants me to do that while she is upside the wall or another almost impossible position to reach.
Just commented with the vet about Loreena being eating one sachet each 2 days - he didnt like, of course. Now is hot season here and she started eating few again.( even with that "plus")
Wondering if wet cat food frozen with a few dry crunch grains of food would please her more.Named it "cats ice cream"...
It's wonderful that both kitties are doing so much better. It sounds like Hildie recognizes that she feels better with the shots. Plus, she wants those Greenies treats.
One thing I do with Akira that is not treat related, since she does still have some weight to lose herself is to give her an extra long brushing with a metal loop "brush" after trimming her nails. "Brush" and "Fish" are her two favorite words. She loves being brushed. Having something like this to look forward to after getting her nails trimmed makes her tolerate getting her nails trimmed a little more, too.
As to the litter box; I have 3 boxes that Hildie and Chessie share, Teia has 2.
With 2 kitties in the same litter, kind of hard to tell, but the clumps do see more normal sized, plus her stools are back to normal after having been real soft and lighter colored.
I am using ProZinc with u40 syringes (29 ga needle).
Gave Hildie her 1st 2 unit shot about 1/2 hour ago.
We've come up with a routine. She comes and bats my leg when she's finished her canned food.
I'll then prepare the syringe, her milk and cookies, too. She likes the Greenies stomach health treats. Since the bag says give kitty up to 16 a day, she'll get 4 before the shot, 4 after the shot and then a teaspoon or so of milk.
Happy to hear Miss Teia had a good report. I am also really happy to hear Hildie's numbers going down. What insulin are you giving her? Is she still using her litter box alot? I found getting another litter box really helped my boy. Didnt have anymore accidents.
