cats eye infection

My 11 yr old cat has something wrong with his right eye. it is almost closed shut and has white snotty stuff coming out the side. Can
I do something? I don't have the money for a vet.  Is there anything I can do to help him out. Help please!!!

i am on disability. my cat is my best friend . there is no way in a cold place i would give up my cat of 11 years. i contacted those places you sent and they are not helping because of the way the economy is of receiving donations.. I asked for help not to dispose of my friend. thanks anyway. I will figure something out for him.

I will send you some links to information, some areas offer help with Vet bills when you cannot afford to pay for. But I will add most Vet clinics will offer a payment plan to help with the costs...
your kitty will loose the sight or even the whole eye if left untreated...I do hope you will find a way to get to a clinic for some treatment asap. or surrender the kitty to a local shelter where it will be taken care of....hard I know but this kitty really needs this eye to be treated and very soon...
