One of my kids has his third eyelids showing and was concerned since there is a stray in the neighborhood that I sometimes feed and his eyes were the same way about a week ago but saw him yesterday morning and they are now fine.  I'm thinking that my Oreo may have caught an infection from him by maybe eating any food leftover from the same bowl Tiger was eating from.  I should have known better since I am sure this is a good way for anything to spread. He isn't lethargic and seems fine in every way but for the eyes.  However, I'm not going to wait to see if it just goes away and will call vet today and definately keeping him inside for now. He's meowing at the top of his lungs right now looking from the door to me..LOL!  I hope that it will only take some antibiotics and he will be fine.  This is first time on this site and glad I found it. Thanks.

My old cat, Metaxa, had his third eyelid show once and it freaked me out.  I didn't know they had one!  So, my mother and I were looking around the living room for his eye!  We felt so stupid after the vet saw him.  The vet said he had irritated his eye and gave us some drops and then he was fine.  Good luck!

LOL  I KNOW that cats get quite the attitude when they don't get their way.  I've seen it way too many times!!

Hey, just a thought....have you switched his food lately?  Maybe the food isn't agreeing w/ him!

Hi, I totally understand your worries.  I've had cats for many many years and the third eyelids showing is one of the signs that I also look for when I think my kitties are sick.  From what I've read about it, when they are showing it means they're either nauseous or sick.  Since you already took him to the vet, and he checked out fine-I would just keep him in the house for a few days so that you can observe him.  Hope he doesn't drive ya nuts!!!!!!!!!  LOL
