HI, MY 4YR OLD CAT, STARTED LOOSING HAIR BEHIND EARS ,  2 WEEKS AGO...3 WEEKS AGO THE VET TOLD US HE HAD A LITTLE WAX ON HIS EAR AND A LITTLE OF INFECTION SENT US HOME WITH MEDICATION AND EAR CLEANING, 2 WEEKS AGO I WENT  BACK  TO VET BECAUSE NOW HE WAS LOOSING HAIR, LAST WEEK  WENT AGAIN AND THEY DID NOTHING THEY JUST CLEAN EARS, SAID DIDNT FIND ANY INFECTION AND SEND ME HOME  AGAIN WITH A NEW EAR CLEANING, AFTER A FEW DAYS OF USING IT, THE CAT'S EAR  WAS GETTING RED AND HORRIBLE PLUS LOOSING MORE HAIR, AND TERRIBLE SCRATCHING, I WENT WITH ANOTHER VET TO HAVE A SECOND OPINION THEY TOLD ME IT HAS NO INFECTION ON EARS BUT A LITTLE INFECTED HIS SKIN AND GAVE HIM A SHOOT AND ANTIBIOTICS WHICH WE ARE ON THE 5TH DAY OF THOSE AND HES NOT GETTING ANY BETTER, PLEASE COULD SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO? OR WHAT COULD IT BE? OR A BETTER VET WHO CAN TELL ME WHATS GOING ON? INSTEAD OF PAY BILLS HERE AND THERE WITH NO RESULTS. HE IS NOT COMFORTABLE AND ME EITHER KNOWING HE'S IN PAIN. THANKS.

I wish I could be of more help...this skin itching and hair loss can be a sign of allergies...to environment or diet.
I would stop using ANY chemicals in the house, clean with pure vinegar. NO sprays or candles..anything with a scent.

And tell me what his diet is? what type of cat food are you feeding?
If its a dry kibble I would stop this...as they are loaded with chemicals and preservatives. try a canned food, without grains.

and I would also try posting this same question to our Expert I gave you the link to that already. just click on the blue and it will take you there. keep us updated and good luck.

yes they did a swab but said no infection in the ear? yesterday i took him again to Banfield in Cambrdige , i was surprise that the vet barely touch him, she gave me tresaderm to put on the back of his ears and skin, and gave me hydroxyzine 10mg to give him twice a day, but then she said if he gets worst you should take him with a skin specialist to find out more because we are not prepare for this...WHAT??? they left me wondering , so what do you do? how much do you know? .....how many vets do i have to visit in order to get with the right one!1!1 and how much more money i need to spend!!!!!!

sorry to hear about kitties problems, did the Vets do a swab of the ear to find out what exactly is going on?
I'm also wondering if you are putting too much in the ear canal and therefor causing irritation?

we do have a Expert Vet on another forum and I would post there and ask your question, perhaps you can get some answers. I hope kitty will soon be well.
