subluxation of knees

My cat has subluxated knees (the knee caps "pop off") causing lameness. My vet recommends surgery but says that this condition is rare if cats and that surgery may not be successful. Has anyone come across this problem in their cat? (I understand it is more common in small dogs and has been corrected with more success than with cats) Did your cat recover?

Wow, that does sound rare. Anyone out there have experience with this? I've got a link here that you may want to check out which is great for seeing other folks experiences with various cat illnesses...but...you'll have to activate your profile so I can send it to you by p-mail, as links and e-mail addresses can't be posted in the threads.
