vomit

I had 4 cats but unfortunately a few years ago I lost 2 to the dreaded C word. The remaining 2 seemed to be quite sickly cats and I say that because they would vomit at least 3 times a week. The Vet couldn't explain it and so I just assumed that they were scoffing mice or something in the woods behind my garden. Suddenly a few months ago I walked into the kitchen and my dog was laying on the floor shaking. He recovered and I rushed him to the VET who said it was a form of mild seizure. He was thoroughly checked over and seemed his usual self (urinating on the floor in the surgery as usual). A month later the same thing happened but this time I realised what he had done. He had scoffed down a bowl of cat biscuits. This was the culprit. He recovered very quickly and I then stopped the biscuits totally for the pets. Since then my cats have not vomited once. The biscuits are meant to be a full meal and I ensured they had fresh water at all times. However, I am astounded how much more wet food they are eating now and how much happier they seem. What on earth could be in those biscuits to cause a dog to fit and cats to vomit?

Hi and thank you. The product goes by the name of Purina GoCat here. The biscuits come in a variety of flavours and the one in question here is chicken/duck/rabbit but I've also had other flavours with the same results. Gocat is a big brand name here in the UK. The box claims "100% complete nutrition". I was also giving my cats wet food but I can guarantee this stuff makes them bring up anything else within hours.
Thank you again this means so much :)

Some of the ingredients of our pets foods are pretty dang scary and with dire consequences as you have seen first hand. Many of these contain meat &/or other additives from China that are questionable.
Tell us the name of the product, brand &/or ingredients. Don't know if the same one is avail here in US or Canada, if they are I will find some info for you, just may take a few days I'm kinda bogged down rt now.
Canned food is always a much preferred diet for cats especially:)
