Thank you. I called the Vet and was told to stop the medication. I will take her back for another visit. I was syringe feeding her not tube feeding. I was told she had some kind of infection and needed clavamox to get rid of it.
Are you tube feeding or syringe feeding? Tube feeding runs a tube directly into her stomach, not the back of her mouth. If you are running a tube into the back of her mouth, she is probably gagging on it.
An X-ray normally is done to determine problems in the body cavity (pneumonia, cancer, injury, etc.) Upper respiratory infections are viral, not bacterial, and affect the head and throat area. I would recommend you call your vet and get a clearer understanding of exactly what his diagnosis is and the medication and feeding instructions for your cat.
honey you better stop the force feeding...if she is still vomiting she will aspirate this into her lungs and that will be fatal...please take her back to the Vet asap. she needs an IV. I assume she isn't tolerating the clavamox..poor little thing, its to high a dose maybe? in anycase stop using it and take her back into the Vet. NOW ♥
I am giving her baby food (Garber chicken and rice) as her Vet suggested. I have to put it in a tupe and force it inside her mouth. After taking X-Ray from her I was told she has some infection (something like uper respetory infection) she was coughing with heavy breathing.
If she is not eating, what is she vomiting up? What is she currently being treated for?
