Has anyone with Chiari malformation been diagnosed with an enlarged heart?

One of my screening tests reported Cardiomegaly as an incidental finding?  Could this be connected to Chiari Malformation.

I was diagnosed with Chiari and syringomyelia in March of 2016, my first decompression surgery was April 13, 2016, I then got aseptic meningitis on April 29th. I had a pseudomeningocele and had to have another surgery October 26, 2016. I was also diagnosed with Aqueductal Stenosis this year and had a VP Shunt placed May 10, 2017. June 16, 2017 my chest xray showed my cardio silhouette was normal, then June 21, 2017, my chest xray showed my cardio silhouette was mildly prominent. I'm working on getting a cardiology referral now, but I was wondering the same, if it could all be linked....

My Cardiomegaly incidental finding came from a scoliosis x-ray.   A recent echocardiogram shows my overall heart size is within normal limits and the  physician's opinion is that the cardiomegaly in the x-ray was due to shadow giving a larger silhouette.

I hope all goes well for you.

Hi,,,I have not heard of anyone else with an enlarged heart along with Chiari...but that is not to say there aren't others out there.....not sure if it would be a related condition....have you also looked into your families medical history? So many of us do have more then just Chiari going on and family medical history plays a big role in that too.....

Has your Dr ruled out other related conditions for you?
