Hi All, in order to post a Prayer Thread for u, please post ur date here on this thread so we know u would like one.

Know it does not need to be surgery for Chiari, it can be nething.....and know we will keep u in our thoughts and prayers.

We also have tips for the hospital stay in the health pages....so do look there for helpful info.

I will be having decompression with C1 Laminectomy on January 28th with Dr. Oro in Colorado.  

It's weird, but I am starting to get excited and I am ready to get it over with!

I will be having decompression surgery on December 11th with Dr. Ciricillo in Sacramento, CA.

Not sure how I feel. I just want to feel BETTER than I have over this past year and  a 1/2.  I know it will take time to get there, but I am ready to be on the other side of it.

Thank you Selma. . .I have been reading your posts over the past few weeks and have found great comfort in your encouragement and responses to others.  GOD BLESS YOU!!!  So glad this venue is here for all of us on this Chiari Train. . . . . I hope that family members and supporters also come here and read to get a better understanding of what we are going thru because it's been a TRIP!  Appearing fine on the outside (unless you really know the person), but suffering immensely inside. . . . . .Again, Thank you for your wisdom an words and I will keep you posted.

Hi! Thanks for prayers you put up for others! I was very fortunate to have a strong prayer team on board prior/during mine. Question, you went through surgery, did you feel disconnected afterwards? If so, how do you reconnect?

  Hi...No worries : ) Glad u had a strong team praying for u during ur surgery.

I am not sure I know what u mean by disconnected...as there can be different ways to view this....in one way bcuz we have to rest so much and can not DO things we would do in a normal day we can feel like we are not connected to the life around us...and in time that changes as we heal...it just takes time...finding small projects to work on crocheting, felting etc may work.

Another way is that u just feel foggy and disconnected  as a result of the meds used during surgery and post op for pain...this fog lifts too, and it depends on each individual as to how long this period lasts....

May I ask how long since ur surgery?

I am having decompression surgery with cervical laminectomy on March 24 - Dr. Peter Grossi, Duke. Never thought I'd say I was excited to have surgery, but... ;)  Thanks so much for the prayer thread!
