Hellooooooooo.......does neone have fun fall treats to share?
Hi all here is a quick and easy treat...huge calories so not for those on a diet.....
use 1 box of brownie mix
I break and bake chocolate chip/peanut chip cookie dough
reese's peanut butter cups
Oreo's
Press the cookie dough into the bottom of the bar cookie pan
layer, an oreo or reese's peanut butter cup, and then add brownie mix to make 3/4 full in each bar opening of the pan.
bake @ 350 for 17 to 20 mins
Very yummy.
Hi all ne new recipes this week?
Sounds yummy I will have to give it a try....and I do that all the time pinch hit with something when I do not have enuff and like u it always seems better then what I was suppose to use....lol...
I know this is late.. but, I couldn't get on yesterday. I baked pies yesterday, and one was a experiment.. because I didn't have enough frozen cherries.. and it tasted the best.
3 cup frozen cherries (was supposed to be 4 cups.. but, like I said.. I didn't have enough)
2 large gaila (or similar) apples peeled/cored/chunked
1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoon cornstarch
1/8 tablespoon almond extract
extra sugar to sprinkle on the top
Pie dough (store bought or homemade)
I preheated the oven to 375 degrees F. I put the thawed cherries in a medium pot and added the chunks of apples and let it come to a simmer.. then I took it off the burner and added the sugar, cornstarch and almond extract.. I mixed that well and put back on the burner on low heat and stirred until it got thicker. I took it off the heat and set aside and put the dough in a 9inch pie pan.. when the filling was cool, I added it to the pie pan.. topped it with another pie dough.. crimped the edges cut the excess dough off.. vented the top and sprinkled sugar on.
I baked it 55 minutes (can go between 45-60minutes check towards 45)
I know adding apples probably isn't anything genius.. but it was really good!
I have one similar to this, but I add greek yogurt and dill to mine....oh and of course onions....and I do use sea salt on them b4 I add the cucs and onions to the dressing.
Here's something quick and easy......
Thinly slice 2 or 3 Cucumbers in a bowl
Add 8oz sour cream
Add 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
Add 1/3 cup sugar
Mix well and serve chilled
Well I never got to try the no bake recipe yet...I am back to my DD's for stripping wall paper and painting....cleaning etc.....but when I do finally try this I will post how it was and the recipe : P
Ne new recipes this week? I am going to try a no back Peanut Butter Pie if it turns out I will share the recipe here.
I have made them and they are very good in fact I added coconut to the mix...I have a pic of them in my profile page.....gave them as Christmas gifts the yr b4 last...lol... last yr I made home made peanut brittle.
I made pumpkin brownies. It's my kids favorite desert. And it's easy to make! All you need is a large can of pumpkin pure (unsweeten) and two box of brownies mix. You mix it to getter and bake it accordingly to the instructions on the box. And voila perfect moist brownies with added fibres.
I agree...I have pie irons too that we made apple pies and even pizza with left overs after spaghetti...I love the meals we made camping....my DD and I would make our own apple sauce over an open fire...yummmmmmmmm
Mmmmm yummy! I'll have to try it! I love to grill... Can't camp much here as its too hot, but I we t camping all the time back in the Midwest. Nothing better than a good camp fire meal :-)
Hi, I do something similar but in a fire...I wrap the sausage along with carrots that were sliced, some onion, and potatoes and season and of course butter....place on the hot coals and turn every 5 mins....this can get done in approx 20 mins.....depends on how hot the coals are....and very tasty.
This is a camping recipe and one that was called a hobo dinner....lol....we will also do it on top of the gas grill as I do not get camping since my surgery.
Ok here is one of my quick and easy favorites;
Hobo Stew
One Kielbaska sausage in the package
two cans green beans
two cans sliced potatoes
3/4 stick unsalted butter
1 tsp. black pepper
melt butter in frying pan
cut sausage into 1" slices and slightly brown in pan on medium heat then
open, drain and place green beans and potatoes in pan
pepper to taste (I like a lot of pepper on this dish)
cover and cook on medium heat for 30 minutes it's that simple
good served with freshly baked crescent rolls with cheese inside, and salad with ranch dressing :-)
Hi all...neone have a recipe??? neone try one that is posted?
Hi all I have been making my own syrup for pancakes, french toast, etc....
So if u have ne strawberries that are over ripe but too soft to eat, u can hull them, quarter them and then add one cup of water, to one cup of sugar (or to taste)....and 2 cups of the 1/4ered berries...cook the water and sugar until the sugar dissolves and comes to a boil, approx 10 mins...add berries and cook for another 10 mins....strain the berries out of the syrup, cool then refrigerate.
Enjoy : )

I spooned some cream of chicken soup on top of the chicken inside the turnover....(right from the can, not diluted.)....covered the chicken and sealed the pastry and baked using the same oven temp and timing as the apples ....
French toast is one of my Favs...and this looks so yummy I have to try it....I do not have ne fruit right now....so when I do I will let u know : P
