Another Hospital stay

I had surgery recently to remove my gallbladder. A simple surgery compared to all the other ones I had. Unfortunately one of the incisions is getting infected. ( I always get an infection after surgery.) Earlier this year I had surgery and got an infection and I was in the hospital for 45 days. I don't want another long hospital stay. It is very dangerous for me to get an infection especially in my abdomen because I have two shunts that drain into my abdomen that drain from brain and spine. If bacteria reaches those shunts it gets a free ride straight to my brain. I don't really know why I keep getting an infection and either do my doctors. Each time I have stayed somewhere different. I quit smoking quit drinking anything but water and orange juice. I keep asking my doctors to check my immune system because I never get a fever and my white cells never go up. I have even been on different meds each time. This time I even have a different doctor. (who is currently on vacation but I have talked with his nurse). Anyways just keep me in your prayers. Hopefully my laptop gets back from dell before my doctor gets back from vacation. I even have a different laptop this time. If not I might disappear for a few days until my laptop gets back.

I didn't think of that my blood count normally low. Every thing else is normally low. My average blood pressure is 54/31 and my average temp is 95.4 I think I will ask my doctor to run some test. I know they know about my bp and temp always being low because of how much they  freaked out the first time I was in the hospital. Last time I put a sign above my bed saying my normal bp so the night nurses wouldn't wake me up (it goes alot lower while I am sleeping). I will do some research over the weekend my doctor just loves it when I talk all doctor like.

thanks,
Zenji

best wishes I hope all goes well for you.

I would press them to check your immune system too.  something is off.  maybe your white count is elevated for you, just normal range for others.  Which would mean you have a low count to begin with and thus you can easily get infections.

either way you don't want to risk any other complications.    Good luck
