Any suggestions about walking

I have no reflex in my right knee and I was thinking about getting a brace for it. Anyone have similar problems and used a brace?

Sorry no, I had a brace for a diff issue, and could not wait to get it off....it cut off my circulation....

I use a cane and have since 2000.....it helps with balance, not sure if it can help with ur issues...what happens when u walk?

I'm slow and wobbly and have a history of falls. I can't use canes walkers crutches even a manual wheelchair because of my wrists having problems both with strength rom (range of motion) and pain. I don't know what to do. My left leg is wobbly during the reflex test as well.

Sorry I forgot about ur wrists...with my EDS the wrist I use the cane with is deformed...it looks odd....it is from all the yrs of leaning on the cane, but I had no idea and now, I do not think it is fixable....it pops in and out of joint, but looks like it is way out of joint all the time.

U may want to talk to an orthopedist to see which brace would be best for u...there r a few diff types out there, I had 2  and the one was just awful to wear....hot, itchy and cut off my circulation, and the other one didn't give support....this was yrs ago, so there may be a few newer types now.

I was thinking of asking the pharmist because my orthopedist is a hand surgeon and the doctor who checked my relexes is Dr. Wiebe. I was completely thrown back by the fact that my right knee didn't move during the test.

Well with Chiari nething is possible with the nerves...so  it is not  that surprising when u consider how chiari affects us.

So u do not have a Dr for ur knee?

Not yet. I guess I should talk to my primary about one. Hopefully it doesn't need surgery. :( I can't deal with surgery on my knee on top of my wrists.

I have seen an alternate to crutches.  It s a thing you rest your knee and lower leg on and it rolls.  This might help during wrist surgery.  sorry you are having so many problems.  Do you have EDS?

I am asking because I was told that won't keep loose ligament in place by Dr for DD.  Her knee gives out.

I don't know for sure if I have eds but my chiari specialists thinks I do because I'm double jointed but didn't do any tests.

My only concern with the double jointed is my forth finger on my right hand. It lost some rom and because I'm double jointed I lost more than the occupational therapist realize. She laughed when I was worried about 5 degrees but it's not 5 degrees it didn't include the fact that I could move them all back.
