Barometric pressure HA cause?

Today I woke up with a horrid headache. It was stormy, rainy, yucky outside. Yesterday was beautiful. My head feels like it's so "full", so much pressure. I can't stand to lie down. I feel just awful. Does anyone else get headaches from weather changes? Is this a normal part of Chiari?

I had Chiari decompression 28 years ago.  I'm 68 now.  This is what I have discovered.  First: I began taking Feverfew and that has almost eliminated my migraines.  Second:  The barometric headaches that triggered the migraines continue, but I have learned a posture that really helps.  I either lie flat, or I tuck my chin to my collar bone - like a Marine at attention.  This straightens the back of my neck, improving the flow of CSF, decreasing the pressure in my head from the drop in the barometer.
Also, I use FLECTOR patches.  It cut them in thirds and stick a piece to the back of my neck, and sometimes the other 2 pieces over the tops of my shoulders.
Hope this helps.
I live where it rains A LOT.  Would like to move, but it's not possible just now.

Oh, I'm not an anal retentive neat freak....any more. I have Aspergers & some OCD issues that I've mainly overcome; had to adapt with 4 kids or go insane, especially 4 special needs kids.  I am on medications that suppress my immune system so it hopefully won't do so much damage to my joints & organs. If I don't keep a decently clean house, I get sick. My immune system just can't fight things off, including allergens. I'm allergic to dusts & molds. If I'm sick, I can't enjoy my kids either. So, if you can understand that I HAVE to keep on top of the mess, but I'd been doing really bad after a steroid injection into my lower back & got behind on the housework. I really wish there was a way to get through the importance of cleanliness for Mom's health to my 4 little walking hurricanes. LOL. I was also doing deep cleaning because both my mom & grandma have allergies to cats, & we have a cat who sometimes comes inside, so I need to do my best to make sure all traces of cat are gone. Now that my house is pretty clean, I can take it pretty easy for the rest of the week; just try to stay on top of it.

Sound's like you have little ones at home.  I have to say me and my husband are empty nester, but I remember them day's.  I always remember something my sister in law once told me when I was saying something about my house be a diaster because of the kid's.  She said. "Close your eye's to the stuff, and enjoy your kid's before you know it your kid's will be moved out and the stuff and chore's will still be there".  How true this statement was.  So don't  worry about the diaster.  I'm sure you mom and grandma isn't coming to see how clean your house is.  Just enjoy them coming.  Hey maybe they will help you clean. LOL.  Little ones especially 4 of them I'm sure are like world wind's.  enjoy your family weekend.

Interesting info in the full moon thread. I know that fibromyalgia often seems to flare with weather changes too. I have Fibro too, in addition to the arthritis disease. I feel like I've been hit by a truck. My whole body is sore. Muscles frm Fibro & possibly Chiari, joints from Ankulosing Spondylitis, head from Chiari, chills & hot flashes from the autoimmune stuff. It's been a fun day. I did way too much for how bad I felt. My mom & grandma are coming on Saturday & my house was a disaster. With the 3 older kids in school, I can get a lot more done, & I did. Now the tricky thing is to keep it clean. My 4 kids are really good at trashing my house really fast.

I will have to keep track of my good day's and  bad because for me I have never associated it with the weather, but it does make sense because of the pressure we produce in our head's.  For me today was a sunny day and it was actually a pretty good day.  As for yesterday it felt like some one hit me in the back of the head with a baseball bat and I don't play baseball. (smile)

Hi Jenny...oh yeah, for years I was known as the walking barometer....

I also notice pains increase with temp /season changes too!.......I was always the opposite...it could be sunny, and I would feel awful if it was going to rain in a few days, it got to the point I could tell when rain was coming ...even my co-workers could tell...

sorry to say this is a typical issue for chiarians : (
