Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum,

We all have the same worries and concerns b4 this surgery as it is a major surgery.....there is pain with this and any surgery post op...having a med schedule and sticking to it will help....

We get that question too and I am not aware of anyone passing away during surgery....but there have been some that have died due to other issues during recovery...this is why it is so very important to have ALL related conditions and non related conditions ruled out b4 you have surgery to help prevent and to take precautions b4 surgery.

When you have a surgery date and would like a Prayer Thread post on the list your surgery date 2015 so a thread is posted for you..

I had surgery 6 yrs ago and I would do it again if I needed to..I have no regrets and a lot of benefits as a result.....hang in there and know you are not alone.
