Chiari 1 malformation: how to sit, walk, and sleep.

Hi I was wondering if anybody can help me with this problem I have. I have Chiari 1 malformation and once I found out I had it, I have been having trouble figuring out how to go through my daily life with not affecting it or my neck. I don't know how to stand and what posture to have when in class bc after awhile in class I start to get dizzy and neck starts to hurt a lot and throat also and I just start feeling a lot of symptoms. Sleeping is easier but I still wonder if I'm sleeping the right way or I might be sleeping at a wrong angle that is affecting my neck and throat. Any help is great thanks!

Hi....I did answer some of these questions in your other thread -

With sleeping you do not want your chin down close to your chest......keep your neck from being bent which can cause you to block the flow of CSF flow....which is one of the reasons we have symptoms....it is a disruption of CSF flow....

Try to hold books or your computer monitor level with your eyes, again to avoid bending your neck to look down....this should help.

Tinted glasses can also be very helpful as florescent lighting bothers many with Chiari.

Proper posture is important and my Drs suggested I look into following Feildenkrais for proper posture.
