Decompression surgery
I have just been diagnosed with Chiari 1, and need to find a specialist in my area. I have been suffering for 6 years and am relieved to finally know why I am in so much pain. It took 3 MRI's, brain angiogram and 3 spinal taps to get here. I would also like to get more information on what the surgeries and their recovery times are. I am in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dr. Richard Schmit is who I was referred to for my Chiari. He is at the U in Salt Lake City. :) He does lots of Decompressions and has a very good record.

Hi and welcome to the chiari forum.
As dermarfx said we do have a list in the Health Pages and there is also a thread floating here on the form as well...I will bump it up so u can see it.Please research all drs as this is not a list of suggested drs, but a list of drs members have been to and liked.
I am not sure if there is one close to u, u may need to go to CO for the closest that I am aware of.
