Does anyone else with ACM feel like one side of their body is worse than the other?

Hello All,

I was diagnosed last year with a 7mm Chiari malformation. I am extremely symptomatic and have been for 9 years now. I was told everything under the sun, from fibromyalgia to allergies. I get severe cluster like headaches, nausea, terrible difficulty eating, the feeling that my body has two very different sides, numbness everywhere, severe fatigue, severe dizziness, and so many more. Also have had several issues in the uteral department which falls into Chiari category. Does anyone else feel like this???

I am currently waiting for my follow up with my neuro (Dr Vale, USF Tampa...anyone know him?). I was going through the motions when I became pregnant last year unexpectedly and after having my little guy I feel even worse! I am afraid. Please reach out and let me know if this is normal for others in this mess as well.

Chelsey

i and welcome to the Chiari forum,

It is very normal with a Chiari DX to feel as you do.....and after having a baby to have symptoms worsen is not unusual either......lifting a baby can be a strain, so understand many things we do on a daily basis can trigger symptoms to flare.

I am not familiar with this Drs name, how did you find him,  We do have a few names of Drs in FL....if you want to check out a few others....

You should see a few Drs to make sure you have the right Dr for you, that they are well informed about Chiari and well experienced too.

Educate yourself on not only Chiari but ALL related conditions so you know if your Dr is ruling them out too....it is very important to know which ones you have as it can affect surgery and recovery should you be found to be a surgical candidate.

Know you are not alone
