Emergency room or Urgent Care????

Just wondering which I should try. Woke up Monday morning with pressure and fullness feeling on right side of face. Thought it was a tooth ache, because my max. jaw hurt too. Later I discovered that the pain was coming from my neck, around the lump node. I found a small swollen area that sent the pain up to my jaw and down my neck when I touched it.  Thought I'd keep an eye on it. Today the area feels more swollen, more tender, and having difficulty swallowing.  Not sure if this is a new chiari symptom, or a thyroid flare up, or just some other weird randomness.  Thought about going to urgent care, but if its CM, is it maybe better to go to emergency-even though it doesnt feel like an emergency?
Any thoughts out there?

Thanks Selma, thats what I thought too. I have been waiting this whole time for the new Ins. company so I could find a NS/NL. Feeling frustrated about that.
Thank You Linnielou. Hard a hard time sleeping last night because it hurts. Even more tender today, I think its the lymph node....not sure what that means.  Waiting to see how it plays out today.

U do not need the cards if u r covered.....and really need to go....the Dr should be able to look u up and get the info...and when u get the cards u could go back and they photo copy for ur file.

So, if it is an emergency, once u r covered u can go,

No Dr. yet. I called hubby at work and told him to get a hold of HR and find out where our new Ins. cards are. He was informed that they were mailed out on 1/15....still have not recvd them. Was waiting for them first to then schedule with one....now not sure if I should be concerned and go, or just wait it out.

HI ...I would agree with Rahe28...call ur NL or NS first and see what they feel u should do, and go from there ...unless u feel ur breathing is an issue then go to the ER...otherwise, as long as it is not an emergency...call ur Dr.

Well, do u have a NS, or NL?
If so I would call their service, they normally have an on call dr, or way to reach them.
If notI would try the emergency room first, just because they have NL, and NS that may be able to care for you better. I would think that theywould be better equipped to deeal with someone with CM as the urghent care will not have a NL or NS on site. Just my honest opinion.
Hope you feel better and please keep us updated.
