High pulse rate....low bp/ high bp

Hi everyone. All of my life I have had  VERY LOW bp. LIke 65/40, and a much higher pulse, 89...91. BUt lately,my bp has been running 130/96, and my pulse rate has been costanly 126 and  up to 131 at times. Have anyof you ever had this happen? The nurse a few days ago seemed concerned about my pulse rate very much and I have also been worried. I know that is very high....and I am just wondering if any of you have had this problem, and if so...what was the reaso for it, if you know. Is this chiari related??

Thank you all for your responses. It was driving me crazy wondering if anyone else has / had this before. At least I have an idea of what to ask about. It can be so scary at times. Most of the times it when I am sleeping and waking up panting for air and clutching my chest because it feels like it is just going to beat right our of my chest, and keep on going. Thanks everyone :)

I have low/normal bp but a lot of palpitation so much that I go in a-fib! I will get a surgery to correct it, they will remove the cells causing my palpitations!

I had this issue, and every time I would sleep at night I would dream and wake up with a very rapid heart rate.  It's really scary.  I had this right after surgery, but it has gotten better.  I hope this gets better for you because I know how scary it is, but I would say it is a Chairi issue because I have heard of others having this issue also..  It will get better.
Linda :)

I also have autonomic dysfunction, same as pots. Theres numerous types. I sometimes have higher bp but not enough for dr to worry about. It fluctuates. I also have the racy heart to the point where i get all tingly and shaky and feel like im gonna pass out. Def mention thos to your nl. I have no special meds for it at the time. Dr dont think its a big issue. Try living it tho, right. Its scary at the moment when its happening. It stops me from doing things anywhere from 40 mins to sometimes all day. My heart evev races when im sitting. Had heart palps before surgery, only a few post op now. Good luck sweetheart

I can't be of too much help, but I can tell you I have hypertension and pvcs, or palpitations...I would get that checked though, for it being that big of a change, and yes, when your heart rate goes really high, you run the risk of svt, which is no bueno.  Definitely look more into it and good luck :-)

Hi, I too have always had low BP...and I do not know what is going on with the heart rate..I had heart palps and not sure how high it got...but imagine with the way I was feeling it would flux high.

I no longer have the heart rates post op.....

A possibility which I explored is POTS as it does affect heart rate and BP, and many with chiari also have that as well....my issues seem to be ok post op, my BP is still on the low side but not as low as it was pre op.

Hope this is helpful
