Horrible sleeping and shaking

Hey all,
For the last few weeks my sleeping has been dreadful.  I keep waking up at random points in the night with strange breathing, total restlessness in my body, burning in my legs, frantic dreaming, weight in my head, shapes and colours in my eyes and light sleeping.  Last night, I was in bed and I started getting full body shaking.  It would start in my feet and travel all the way up my body, leaving me shaking.  It wouldn't last long but it was frequent.
Does anyone else experience this or something like it?

Hi.
We've been waiting since June on the sleep study. I've been told it will happen in January. But we're also on a cancellation list so could be called at anytime.
Good luck to you.

Yes, I do believe that I have sleep apnea.  I have woken up a few times in the night gasping for breath.  I spoke with my Dr about this and I have been waiting for almost 2 months to hear from the sleep clinic.  jacmurphy: I hope that your son can find some relief, if it makes him feel any better, he is not alone.
Thanks for the responses,

hi jess...i agree with selma...have you had a sleep study done yet?  if not, you might want to talk to your dr about having one done.  it seems that most of us do go in cycles where the sleep is concerned.  also, the full moon was last night and for some reason that seems to effect  us as well.  the burning sensation could be from many things.  pressure on a nerve or fibromyalgia both can cause that sensation...you should really mention these things to your dr.  but the sleep study i would push for.
keep us posted!

Hi. My son gets the colours and shapes when he closes his eyes to sleep. This can stop him from sleeping. At times he says he feels like  if he doesn't concentrate on his breathing it will just stop. He gets full body shaking when he fights the fatigue.
