Hospital stay ??

Hi everyone I was diagnosed with Chiari 3 weeks ago and scheduled for surgery in 5 days. This will be my first every surgery  I am 31. Scared crap less and worried about my 2 yr old who has never been away from me. For those of u who have had the surgery how long were u in the hospital?? N was the pain tolerable when u woke up ??
Like I said first surgery ever and never been put to sleep .

As for surgery and hospital stay, it really depends on exactly what your Dr is going to do and how you react to pain, pain meds and your body responds.

I was in ICU for 2.5 days as I had a reaction to morphine, once the med was changed I went to a reg room and went home on the 5th day.

Pain levels post op were ok due to pain meds. And this also will depend on how you and your body tolerate pain.

Make sure to tell your little one you can not lift them up and have them crawl up onto your lap for snuggle times, you should start that now and have someone there to help as you will be liited as to what you can and should do post op.
