Injury years after surgery!

Its been a long time since I've posted!  Which is good! I had decompression 11/2009! Long recovery!  Id say a year!
Been great!  Ran my first half marathon last year and running full in October!

BUT..... had an injury.  Weight fell on me from above.  Jarred my head and neck.  Now have a slight headache but it's in back of head and alot of stiffness.

My neck is crackling alot when I move it and even popping some as well. I do not recall ever having crackling in my neck.

Last I was told by surgeon,  no restrictions and nothing Id need to follow up.

So I called family dr to see me and she'll refer if necessary.

Thoughts?  Craclking noises normal?

I see you are a running girl. I would like to continue my own running someday. Completing a full marathon is such a dream come true - something you will always be able to reflect back on with so much pride. Take care of yourself now, so that you can return to your running. My surgeon gave me some isometric neck exercises to strengthen my muscles after my surgery. I believe they are good for me; however, I still hear the same crackling noises that you describe. Let me know if you find out that those noises are due to anything notable important.

Be well. I truly hope you can lace up your running shoes very soon. : - )

They did a cat scan! Not sure why?  As that's useless.  But we'll see what they will do next.

Hi and welcome back !! Sorry you're having issues again....from what I understand an injury like you had could cause symptoms to flare....not sure if the injury you had was such to cause the tonsils to herniate again, but I am sure it jarred everything and could be why you have the crackling and stiffness,,,, a MRI to insure there is nothing  going on that will need a visit to ur NS....most times with an injury like this you flinch your muscles during the injury and that could account for the stiffness and the muscles being pulled could  also be the reason for the crunching....as it may have pulled everything out of alignment,,,,

Get a MRI and let us know....do neck exercises also...typical ones for post op of PFD.

Praying it is just the muscles.
