Kinks in the neck?

Sometimes when I put myself in awkward posititions ( buckling kids in back seat kinda stuff) my neck feels like it locks in position. Kinda like a painful popping feeling. I slowly remove myself and take a few minutes to let it loosen on its own.Does anyone else have this issue? Is it even related to CTE or Chiari? What do you do to alleviate it? Honestly it scares me every time.

I know what you mean.....but try to get in the habit of listening to your body, it will tell you when to stop, rest, etc....lol...

I go back to the neurologist on October 30th I'll ask her if she'll check for these things. Thanks for the information. I will keep trying not to get into those situations, but I sometimes seem more hazardous to my own health than anything else is lol

Hi...I too had this....and it can be painful....I was DX'd with Ehlers-Danlos which is a connective tissue disorder which the tissue holding the joints in place is lax and stretched out.....so our muscles work harder to hold them in place and awkward movements can cause the muscle to spasm, or the joint shift out of place.....

I try not to put my self in those awkward positions....see if you can find a different way to hold your head while doing your daily tasks.....and do make sure EDS is ruled out for you.

It could also be a syrinx or the Chiari affecting you.....so avoiding those positions  may be the best thing overall.
