Looking for good surgeon in DFW

My kid was recently diagnosed with CM1. He complains headache and all over body pain (pokey in his word). Based on MRI (15mm cerebellum tonsils extends), his pediatric neurologist suggest a surgery. We are doing research and seeing PD surgeon. Would anyone know any good PD surgeon in DFW area? Thanks a lot!

These are for TX not just the city you requested as there are not many Drs out there and it is possible you may not like the Dr for your city and may want to research a few others....keep in mind this is not a referral nor endorsement of their ability to treat Chiari.....only that members here have been to treated by and liked them...so educate yourself on Chiari and ALL related conditions so you can choose the right Dr for you.

HI selmaS, thank you so much for being so helpful. We live in Dallas. Although we are seeing PD neurosurgeon, would you please provide a Dr. list for Dallas? There may be one them who's a PD.
In addition, where can we go to test if my son has EDS? Since opening dura is an option, according to what I read hear, it's necessary to know if the patient has EDS?
Is there anyone's kid here that has the same experience (open dura)? It sounds very scary. how's the recovery and result? thank you!!!

Hi Littlepond and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Can you spell out where  you are....not sure of the DFW initials do you mean TX?....

If it is TX here is a list of Drs  for the state.....the list is not a referral nor an endorsement for those listed, it is only meant to be a tool to help you research Drs with a starting point..The list was compiled by members here of Drs they had been to, treated by and liked,,

Our list does not specify if they are a Peds Dr...most Drs treat both adults and children, but you will have to ask when you call as part of your research....many times the Drs change whom they treat even after we post about them....so it is best to research all the Drs you can.

Also educate your self on Chiari and ALL related conditions, as this will help you recognize when you have found the right Dr for your child.
