Loosing neck muscle, gaining pain

This past couple of days I feel like the pain in my neck is getting worse and worse and I'm having trouble using my neck.  Usually mornings Im at my best because I'm fresh.  Not the case this morning.  I can hardly turn my neck this morning it's so painful!
It will be a year since surgery on the 24th of this month!

I've been battling headaches for the past couple of months, my mri shows some post surgical fluid changes still.  He said I've not adjusted yet but will with time.

It's confirmed that I'm a migraine sufferer.

But this neck thing is getting pretty old that I'm getting depressed!

I have no idea what exercises to do and I was never sent to therapy....really wish that he did some sort of therapy for follow up!

I did find something today that did seem to loosen things up, it was my moms!  It sends electric pulses to my muscles and zaps them!  I'm lovin it!  i think it's called massage mouse???  not sure what she got it?  My mom is a massage therapist and has been a way in AFrica in the peace corps and is home on leave for a bit.
at this point i will try anythign!

Hi Jen...I am so sorry....it can get very depressing dealing with all the issues and all we all want is to feel better.

DO u do teh same neck exercises as u did right after surgery?...I continue to do the neck stretches and movements I was told to do in fear of my neck getting stiff.....I have only had short mobility on my range of motion when I felt poorly all over....back and shoulders hurting...but for the most part I have not had the same issues u seem to be dealing with...could it be ur pillow or position u sleep in?....for a while I was having some stiffness and it was my pillow.

Sending u good vibes and prayers u feel better soon : )

i can totally relate.  the 11th with be 9 months post op and i too suffer from neck pain and pretty bad headaches. my headaches are not severe all the time BUT i always have one. ive adjusted to that part already. my NS sent me back to physical therapy for six weeks to work on my neck muscles. she believes that is causing alot of my pain. i disagree. i know that i have weaker neck muscles as a result of the surgery but - they arent that bad to cause the pain and symptoms i continue to have.  i have an appt at Johns Hopkins on the 11th (ironic, i know) for a second opinion.  my procedure was done under different circumstances than many others. i couldn't "doctor shop" for the best. my condition came on suddenly and i was "millimeters from death".
so i will post on how PT goes as i start tonight.
OH- i agree with the morning being your best. but again, the whole sleep thing has been nearly as terrible as weeks after surgery. I just cant find a sleep position that doesnt wake me up in the middle of the night with excruciating pain in my neck, pins and needles in my left hand and arm, or a bad headache. UGH! i feel your frustration.
