Low Blood Pressure

So it seems that Low Blood Pressure might be part of my problem... influencing my symptoms. (Dizziness, "white outs"/similar to drop attacks, blurred vision, etc.)

Does anyone else have low bp or in general have a bp that is on the lower side?

I have been told to increase my fluids A LOT... I'm drinking lots of water and also Gatorade and vitamin water.

Me too!!  I have always had low BP to the point while pregnant it is normal to go high...mine went into "normal" ranges......

I had drop attacks and had vertigo, got dizzy, had balance issues....blurred vision....I was never told my BP was partly to blame.....98/63.....it is  not under 90...but low regardless.

My blood pressure has been on the low side for as long as I can remember. I dont know the "exact" numbers but whenever I go to the dr they tell me its a little on the low side

I do get dizzy if I stand up too fast, and sometimes get that tipsy little whoa! wobble to the side once in a while.  Never knew why.   I remember waking up on the floor twice when I was a little kid - confused but never told my parents.  Otherwise no passing out or drop attacks as an adult (except when I had a nose job in 1983 & lost too much blood internally - passed out & cracked my head on the bathtub... but that doesn't fit this category.)

That said - turning 45 took care of the rock solid lower blood pressure for me!  It went up to 120/80 so I increased my swimming to stay on top of it.  Then, when my mother-in-law was on hospice last September, my blood pressure skyrocketed to scary levels.  Been on Bystolic ever since.

hahaha.... sorry I'm not laughing at you - BUT I was in the same situation. ENT told me I had menieres and to lower my salt!! Then I went to a better ENT and he ruled out Meniers but decided I had migraines with no headache so gave me a medication that is typically used to lower bp.... baaah!!!

So anyways now I have seen a regular neurologist as well as a neuro at the Chiari Institute and they both have encouraged me to drink more fluids for my low bp (which was 115/55 when I checked in, but then 110/60 when I was in the Dr office)

I also have a mild form of EDS which can also cause low BP... I have not been given a dx of Chiari b/c I do not have headaches (well I think I've had maybe 3-4 chiari type, but they aren't a huge prob).  

So just wondering what others are struggling with and how BP my effect that...

Relatively Low...  I have never been told I had low bp until a few months ago... and I've been an athlete all my life so 110/8 would be considered normal... which is right around where mine is now - BUT I have not been doing anything athletic for a while now b/c of my symptoms so I'm not sure if I should really still have a "lower" bp.

From what I've read BP is considered Low (causing symptoms) when it hits 90 - so 100-110 is considered low but normal.

Do you have dizziness, blurred vision, balance probs, drop attacks, or fainting...? just wondering

I haven't been diagnosed with Chiari- still in the process of finding answers.  One of the avenues i've been pursuing is my low BP.  It averages 94/62 , often dropping below 90/60.  They thought this was the cause of my dizziness, but i'm not convinced.  I do feel it drop when I stand up too quickly, etc.   but I don't think its my only problem & as far as I know, it wouldn't cause the major headache at the base of my skull.
I too have been told the same.. to increase sodium & fluid intake.  On the other hand, an ENT has told me I have Menieres disease.  Treatment for that?  to LOWER sodium & decrease fluids in your system.  ugh... can't win.

What kind of "low"?  Mine used to run 110/68.  On the low end, but not too low I think...
