Make a wish?

Anyone who has kids with chiari have they done or considered make a wish foundation?

For Rachael, Make A Wish was not an option because the neurosurgeon that signed the form said it was NOT life threatening.  

We had to find an organization for kids with chronic conditions.  Rachael was recently granted a wish through Dream Factory, and is awaiting her wish to be granted.

It is sad to me that children who suffer (and probably will for their whole lives) each day are denied on a regular basis.  These kids need the uplift and encouragement of a dream just as badly.

I'm so happy too! If I get excepted then great! I'll just have too think of a different wish LOL but I dnt think my ns will pay any attention to them so most likely it's a lost cause. Either way I am happy!

I was aware that she did get it done for u, but, I did want to let u know chiari is on the list and once the dr completes the form, it should be approved.....Laurie's son was sent to Disney and had the  full royal treatment...

And in case some one else would be interested they will know how to get this done : )

The lady I talked to didn't seem to think chiari fit the criteria. But she said she would send it to my ns anyway to see but she doubted it. But that's ok elizabeth has made my wish come true! Thanks for ur help!

HI Molly...I spoke with Laurie and she said the dr has to sign off on the Make a wish forms and chiari is on the list of conditions that they will accept.'

So, send the forms to ur dr...one u know will complete them...mayb ur PCP?

HI Molly...Laurie's son was accepted and had a vacation in Disney....and even had a personal song written for him....and there was a camp this summer for kids with chiari....but she would be someone that has used make a wish.
