I am waiting for my surgery to be scheduled, but I have a good friend who just had hers in September and did very well afterwards. She was prepared to be in the worst pain of her life and said it wasn't as bad as she thought. That could just be her pain tolerance but I think if you talk to your dr. you can find the right meds for your recovery. Good luck and keep us posted.
Hello Prism272,
I just had my surgery Oct1 I was really quiet supprize that i had more pain in my leg from where my NS took a graft for my patch to recover the brain don't get me wrong I did have pain from the Chiari surgery what i am having problems with is getting my strength back in my neck so hang in there good luck with everything
Hi, I understand ur concerns, but do see Dr Oro and see what he can suggest. Yes, the recovery time can be long, but everyone is different as to how long they r on pain meds....I know I am still recovering, but I do not take meds and haven't for some time.
I may take tylenol once in a while.....but other than that ....that's it.
I am not an expert as to what is what with meds, and I was told after my knee surgery I had developed anallergy to oxycotin....so that was out....I had morphine for the first time and it made me sick, so I was changed to dalauid (sp?).....
U should check and let the dr decide if there is something that could work for u.
