Thx to all for comments. :)
I've had five myelograms. Like any procedure you will find people who have had good and bad experiences. I've had both. But most of the times I had it, it was not bad. The complication I had was that with my tethered cord they needed to go lower and one intern wasn't aware of that. I'm sure it will go fine. I've done them without any mild sedation and it has been fine. I have had spinal fluid leaks a couple times after them, but like someone else said, lay down that day or at least for a good part of it and take it easy for the next day even if you feel good so the site can heal - it's worth it not to get a spinal fluid leak!! They tilt you head down to move the dye, but you are secure on the table and they have you roll over or back and forth for the same reason before the Cat scan. My doctor lets me bring my cell phone in and play relaxation music that my son has composed. God's Peace to you.
I always wondered how or if this would help...thanks for sharing.
Are these expensive to own?

I had a fracured lower back in 2005 I used and still use a portable TENS unit for pain- it is an Electonic Stimulation that calms the nerves down- I also started using it on my upper spine with the Chiari - The unit is small enough that I can clip it to my waist band and hide it under my shirt-
I can't say enough about it- it works wonders for all the pain- I wear mine close to every day now- I move the electrodes to the place that hurts the most.
i had one in 99. i suggest you lay flat for at least a day and a half !!! i had mine at 9 am went home layed flat for the rest of the day and night. i got up at 5;30 am to go to work and by 11;00 am i was rushed to the hospital with a spinal headache. the procedure was not at all painfull.
Hi...sorry I never had one.
I am sure the members that have will post their experience.
