NC Chairi Surgeons

Has anybody had any experience with any NS's in North Carolina other than Dr. Rosner?  I work in the OR selling anesthesia so I'm just not comfortable with the fact that his license has been suspended.

I have heard that Dr. Carlos Bagley from Duke is excellent and I was thinking about going to see him.  I live in Charlotte and would like to have the surgery here but I want to get the best results.

Any advice from anyone in NC would be greatly appreciated!

Right when he has fixed sooo many that others that didn't have their license suspended messed up....that is who they should be suspending....but the NCMB also had to be sued by the Dept of Corrections for threat of reprimanding any dr that participated in a court ordered executional. The NCMB also did this to a dr buttar and he had to sue them in the superior court to get all their "difference of opinion" reprimands erased. Its unreal....but it you truely read all the dockets that are available on the NCMB's site you will see that they even tried not letting him have his expert testimony from out of state....not too many are on his level....I don't know of anyone else in NC on his level....you may have to travel out of NC....I know of a girl that went to Duke and had 17 surgeries and Dr. Rosner spent 7 hours fixing her. So be careful that you go to a true specialist....and like Pam and Selma said, there is usually controversary with chiari because not many know too much about it so they don't believe the "truth" I guess, is all I can think of.....good luck!!!

Hello,

I will be having surgery with Dr Rosner on Wednesday.  As Selma said there is more to the story than a suspension.  The true Chiari specialists are putting their reputations on the line everyday to help us because science and understanding hasnt caught up.  You do have to be comfortable with your surgeon but there have been lots of people falsly accused.  As Dr R stated in an interview in the old days when they didnt agree they burned you at the stake... now they ruin your professional reputation.

I have been to Duke, Wake Forest, and several other NS's and NL's and I can tell you I havent ever seen a more caring, careful, thorough physician.  All the documents are online for you to read and understand.  After surgery I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Good luck and I hope you find someone you are comfortable with.

Pam

HI and welcome to the Chiari forum.

There is more to the story than that, and it has been re instated. What u want or should want is a NS that is a true pioneer in chiari treatment and research....

Many that r true pioneers in their field r scorned....and u do have to choose a Dr u r comfortable with.

Research is the best way to go  to find the Dr that is right for u...and u may have to travel to get to one.

Good luck
