Nausea when eating several years after chiari surgery

Hi folks,
Two years ago my daughter had the chiari I decompression surgery. Before surgery, she did not have a gag reflex at all. Now, we're a few years out and she's routinely so nauseated after taking a few bites of food that she has to stop eating altogether. I'm trying to figure out if we should take her to her neurologist first or have her see a gastroenterologist. If anyone has seen anything like this I'd like to know. Thank you!

How many years since the surgery? It is possible to have other underlying issues develop or show up as we heal and it is again possible to still be healing and seeing benefits....so it stands to reason, other issues could surface.

Seeing a GI Dr would be a good idea.

I am wondering what other related conditions she might have had prior to surgery.
