Neck Pain in Cold Rainy Weather?

Hi All -

Michael continues to do fantastic at 5 months post op.  The only thing he has noticed pretty consistently is when the weather is cold and rainy his neck is pretty stiff and it hurts.  Anyone else dealing with this or have suggestions?  He is off all meds now and really doesn't want to take anything.  But, ibuprofin and Naproxen don't seem to help much.

  Hi, thanks for the update on Mike.....

The neck exercises should be done as it will help, but always use heat b4 and after the exercises to help relax the muscles....

And most of us r affected by the weather, but right now what he is feeling is from surgery, and it will lessen in time or should....so keep moving the neck and use heat b4 and after.....if it feels like it spasms, ask about valium but only when it is really bad and nothing else helps.

Dana and Irislita - What helps it other than next ROM exercises?  Heat?  Any over the counter meds?

I agree I am now over a year post op and still notice I am getting better...and humidity and weather changes were affecting me strongly after surgery...but lately it got better...really healing is such a long story!!!

That is fntastic that he's better and doing well. 5 mo is still early in recovery so give it time and have him do neck excersises. For me I am 5 mo post op from second surgery and the weather has always bothered me, heat rain humidity snow, ugh.....so he's def got a road to recovery and hopin it gets better day by day hugs,Dana
