Hi my doct said btwn 7-9 days to have staples, If i had stayed in Wisc they would have come out in 7 but i came back home so they will stay in 9.

glad to see your DD is doing better, I agree with selma it all might have been just too much too soon for her.

hope she kicks butt back soon!

good luck

Hello beaglefreak:)
I like that name:) thank you for the support. The doc took out her staples yesterday about 40, with no pain meds or numbing agent, nothing. So she is in more pain now. I thought it was too soon because it was six days after her surgery. They took her off the strong pain meds (intraveinious) too. Which is a good thing, don't want her hooked. I think it's like Selma said, she had her three surgeries back to back so her body feels like it was hit by a Tethered cord train and run over by a Chiari truck.
I know the doc did this to help her more than anything. She been in the hospital for sometime now under heavy meds for her pain from surgeries. One NS told me once that he finds that Chiarians have a very high level of pain tolerance. This is one moment our life I hope and pray it hurries up and passes by fast. Because time right now is what will help her recover.
Thank you and everyone here for your support and god bless each and everyone and your families. God bless:)

Hi Angie, I just had surgery a week ago and have 21 staples... they will remove them in 4 more days.    I assumed it was  like a two week or earlier process... enough time for the incision to heal up some, but not enough time to cover the staples.  Im sorry your DD is having such a horrible time, it sounds awful.  Best wishes to her.

Thank you,
I know it is going to be a very long rehabilitation period for my DD. I pray that each day she gets stronger and she won't need any more surgeries (at least for a long time) I know god is listening, but sometimes it's just to much.
How are you doing? I see ur on the forum more and that is great to see. Welcome back if I did not say it before. God bless

I am sure this is bcuz of her TC surgery being so close and that is y she is progressing slower, but the staples should come out b4 the skin begins to grow.....

I will keep her in my prayers

Hey Selma, she is still in the hospital but she is running a fever and they took some tests from her (CT, x ray's) so she is feeling exsauted. The x ray last night was the worst, the tech grab her by her neck hard and she said she felt the pain shoot down her spine, so the doc had to reorder it today. She is really trying to walk but her legs are so weak and she says her arms too. God bless
