Picture - MRI, Please help...

I know people can't officially say yes or no..but any opinion is helpful......I had a cat scan and the radiologist said questionable bilateral cerebellar tonsillar ectopia, but the MRI results indicated nothing about it.  I think mine looks like an image that I have seen online of CM, but mine just isn't as pronounced.  I see a neurologist on March 4th...

I looked at your photos, but I didn't know what I was looking at! lol  I added some more shots from my MRI....I had to take a picture of the picture so you can see my reflection in the pictures.

Hi, thanks for posting your picture... I love pictures. Don't know if you have looked at my profile, but I like MRI's N stuff!   Ok, so you specific slice of mri you are showing here make it hard to really tell exactly where you posterior fossa ends, that is one of the points that is used to look at in comparison to your tonsil placement. It looks like you do have a very tight space, and a flow study would show where the csf blockages would be, better than a MRI can.  However, every picture of a normal brain shows the cerebral tonsils as rounded and  tucked up against the cerebellum with lots of room for flow. Your picture doesn't look like normal tonsils, neither does mine or Meshell's. I have also read that the NS's like to take measurements of the brainstem, and sometimes find they are elongated and this can cause symptoms also but I am not sure how they do that or what the criteria for the measurements are.   Good luck and keep posting!   Stacey

Oh that is my biggest fear if I don't I will lose everything I have worked hard for, especially since its work comp....I noticed 2nd day after my accident I was losing grip on steering wheel. Then it went down hill, I am literally worse everyday....I have never been so scared in my life....I have hardly no nerve responses in my hands arms or leg (the one he tested) twitching all over. tingling hands feet, burning in arms, pressure pain ears and jaw, horrible pain from bottom of skull to neck, sometimes sore throat, horrible pressure pain in my shoulders, worse when i sit up. The one day i did go to work and sat in hard chair all day I had horrible headache up side of my face that tingles and behind my eyes, lower back became stiff recently and legs, its hard to walk sometimes. So yeah this is my biggest fear too....i am really scared. I fired my attorney tonite because I can't get no help, I don't know what to do, If i do get appt at chiari institute, I don't know how I will pay for it, I am pretty much hopeless right now....I'm not the person to ask.....I am scared too

I know I'm getting ahead of myself, but I have this fear I won't get a diagnosis.  I keep hearing the neurologist is really good that I am seeing.  I think it's obvious something isn't normal, but exactly what, I don't know.  What type of symptoms are you experiencing?

I had a smart neurologist that recognized all my symptoms. I still don't have diagnosis....he is a MS dr. he said its ms or chiari but I don't have lesions. He wants to rule everything out, I don't know, I sent my stuff to chiari institute yesterday, I don't know what else to do.

I have no idea how or when mine even started.....it sounds like CM is hard to get a diagnosis for.  So you may have an aquired case or did they find it by accident?  I still don't know how the radiologist missed mine..my cerebellum is all smooshed down and has a tail...

See urs is pressing on brainstem too it looks like, I think that is why I do not have any nerve responses in arms leg tested. I don't know I am having a tough time because mine is work comp because I got in accident while traveling for work.
