Hi,,I waited a year....and I took that time to research Drs and read up more on Chiari and related conditions to make sure I would know when I found the right Dr.Once I met with the Dr it was approx 2 months until I had surgery.
Thank You for getting back to me....this board is grateful to have you.. It is such a waiting game sometimes. I found out I had Chiari from a neurologist on December 21st at this time he referred me to a NS... who required that I have an MRI with flow study... which I just had on Thursday, and now a consultation is scheduled on March 26th. It feels like my symptoms are pretty severe that they would not have such a waiting game with me... so I was wondering if this was the norm for everyone else?
IMHO it is best not to rush into surgery...the only time rushing is warranted is in an emergency situation only. I know you feel your symptoms are severe, but it is best to check everything out including the Drs to make sure they are the right one for you.....in dealing with the medical community t seems to be the norm to hurry up and wait....so it can get frustrating....just hang in there
