Post op recovery

Hi Everyone!
Ok so here I am. 5 weeks and 3 days post op. Boy can I say this has been on H-E-double hockey sticks of a journey. Today was a awesome day. No pain at all today till I over did it this evening. Today I woke up and got ready and went to the mall for a few hours. I came home and did a few loads of laundry, did the dishes, Ironed some clothes made the bed folded laundry and organized my drawers and cleaned the room. All I can say to justify doing this much is that everything was a pig pen and I wanted to do what I could while I could. Now I am resting with leg pain and neck stiffness and the needle pain at the incision site. What I wanted to say is that I have I think what is supposed to be my 4 week post op with my NS tomorrow. I had my check up with my pcp last week who said everything looks good. Should I do what I did with my consultation and write down my questions? I know everytime I see Dr.Won I can never remember everything I wanted to ask him. I am sure a few of you here know my situation what else should I ask? Its times like this when I feel "good" or OK that I seem to forget everything else I have been dealing with?

That is too much!  Tsk, tsk!!  I think after the trip to the mall the other stuff should have waited a day or two so not to over do it.

I hope your appointment goes well and you feel better!

Hi Devin ...I have to agree with Shane......

I am 6 months post op and do not do that much either.....I learned early on, if I feel good enjoy it and do little.....overdoing it can hurt neone...even those that do not have chiari....

And deff write down ur questions so u can remember them all...same goes for how u have been feeling.

Good luck

Man! I haven't done that much total! And I'm a year and a half post op :D!

Just write down any symptoms you're still having, or anything odd about the incision site. The biggest thing right now you need to watch for is infection (which your PCP would have noticed) and to make sure your flow is okay, if you are getting really bad headaches or tingling in the extremities then you should let your NS know - if they are severe you should go to the ER and let them contact your Doctors.

Just make a note of everything :).
