Scared and Angry

I will be getting MRI results on 3/8.  I have been begging my PC and Rheumatologist  for over 3 years for help!  I have left Dr.s office (both)  sobbing 85% of the time!   I found out about Chiari from a Fibro newsletter.  I fell apart when I read the symptoms.   I have all of them, including a plantar wart on my foot?  When I walk (sometimes) every muscle from the waist down is screaming  and seizing up. Crying (again)  I told both Drs that it's like a bolt of lightening going up my spine to the back of my eyes.  I am so over medicated!  My question is.....what questions should I be asking when I see him on Tuesday?   I am praying it is Chiari..so I can get some relief!  I know I will have to travel for help, can you fly after the surgery?  Should I request other tests before seeing a NS?  Also, I worked  @ Starbucks and fell and hit the side of my heard on 3 metal shelves.  Hit hard enough to break/Crack 5 teeth!  That was in 7/12 and on/1/13 I left work and have been in so much pain since.  Please Help!  Any NS in the Palm Springs area of Southern Cal?  What about Mayo Clinic in Arizona?   Thank you in advance for yourbhelp!

Hi Ninki5853 and welcome to the Chiari forum,

We do have a list of Drs for CA, but the list is not a referral nor an endorsement for those listed it is meant to be used as a tool to research Drs. You want a true Chiari specialist....one that knows to rule out ALL related and non related conditions.

Surgery may not relieve all symptoms especially if you do have related conditions as many of them have the same symptoms. and Surgery is not a cure for Chiari only a means to restore CSF flow and slow progression of a syrinx if one is present or one from forming if you have slow CSF flow....so a CINE MRI is needed as well.
