Hi a CINE MRI is similar to a reg MRI in that the tube is the same...settings r diff....it is done in 2 parts...u go in like with ne other...when u come out to start round 2 they inject a contrast dye and put a clip on ur finger to monitor ur BP...this is all done to study the flow of ur CSF to see if there is a blockage.
The Brain MRI should be w/wo contrast....and separate from the CINE.

I'm waiting to get an MRI of my brain as soon as the insurance pre-authorizes it. This week I had cervical and thoracic MRIs but not CINE. Can you tell me what a CINE MRI is? Should I be trying to make sure that's what I get for my brain MRI coming up?
Thanks so much for your help.
dr ellenbogen I've heard is fantastic but i'm not sure if he's only peds.

I was also tested for lymes, lupus and MS to rule these out as many conditions share symptoms....it can be quite confusing.
Do u have copies of ur MRI's? Were u given a CINE MRI to check for blocked CSF?
We have a thread with a list of drs that members here have gone to...we do not offer names on a larger list as many of the lists were not updated or were not true chiari drs....so we r trying to compile a list of drs that have treated chiari and the patient liked the dr in order to place them on the list.
There may not be a dr in ur area and u may have to travel.Below is the link to the thread I mentioned...there is a dr listed in Palo Alto, CA.....I know there is another dr in CA, ....but is associated with Kaiser Medical if that helps his name is Dr. Won in Fontana
