Surgery is scheduled for Monday, October 6th. Question about shampoo

I am getting closer to surgery, very nervous, but ready to get a new start. I was wondering what type of shampoo your neurosurgeon asked you to use the day of surgery? I was given a list, but most I would think would dry out the scalp and make it harder for them to apply the electrodes that they monitor brain waves with during surgery..?

I haven't had surgery yet but the doctors from where I'm fro suggests to use hibiclense. You can buy it from Walmart or any local ppharmacy. At Walmart its about 6 dollars. I don't know how much it would be at your local pharmacy.  Good luck on your surgery.

Hmmm  my  surgery  5  yrs ago....I was told just  use what you use  it was only post op that  specifics  were given.

Post op I was told to use Baby shampoo and to not shampoo  often as any washing will  dry  out the skin  and  drying leads to the skin pulling,,,which could cause the incision  to  open in places,

Hi Sarah,
Your big day is almost here, and we are all pulling for you!

The day before my surgery, I had a visit with the nurse, who gave me the shampoo I was to use the morning of, or night before, the surgery. The label on the bottle reads "Surgical Scrub," which is a 4 oz bottle. The manufacturer name on the bottle is 'Steris.' It says that it is with Bactoshield CHG 4%.
