Good luck and you will be in my prayers I am sure you will do just fine
Hi, I understand your fear, I am 3 months post op. Does you're NS have alot of experience with this type of surgery? I had the Chiari Decompression with the duraplasty and 5 disc laminectomy's with fusion. I am feeling 80% better and am glad I had the procedure, although still feeling alot of soreness, especially without the brace. Make sure you do exactly what they tell you to do for recovery, it will make or break your healing time. You will feel anxious to do stuff about 2 months post op and you will feel like it is taking a long time. My doctor told me 8-12 months but I did'nt know that until my husband told me yesterday because I don't remember anything right before the surgery or after while in the hospital. Make sure you have a good support system at the hospital and when you go home, you will need to be completely cared for, at least I did but maybe it was due to the extra stuff I had done but I'm not sure. Well I wish you the best, I hope yours goes as well as mine.
Hi, you are not alone with the scared/excited emotions. It is scary, but I just wanted it to be over and done with and ready to heal. I hope you have a strong support system who will be able to take care of you. I wish you all the best, and am happy you found a NS you love.
Take care,
Jocelyn
