Tingling/Numbness in nose

I finally saw a neurologist for POTS the other day (Dr. Khurana-I recommend him!) and he was very thorough going through all my symptoms, but out of everything he said that what concerned him the most was the numbness/tingling that I get in the tip of my nose.  I had always just ignored it, thinking it's just another random symptom, but does it mean anything?  At that point I was taking in all the information and failed to ask questions.  He sounded like he was relating it to the possibility of surgery?  Is it something I should be concerned about?

  Have you had a CINE MRI?

A CINE MRI is done to look for an obstruction to CSF flow.....then checking the complete spine to rule out a syrinx....there are many Drs that only look at the cervical spine to rule out a syrinx, but they can also form in the thoracic and lumbar spine.

Having EDS can affect how you feel and heal should you have surgery and precautions can be taken to help ensure a smoother recovery.....ie using your own tissue for a dura patch to help reduce the chance of rejection of the patch.

No syrinx and unsure about a CSF obstruction. I also have EDS.  Just wondering if it should be cause for concern or a sign of things possibly getting worse?  Thanks!!

Hi...with Chiari, we can have numbness and tingling in any area of the body....do you also have a syrinx?
