Too late for neck exercises?

I am 8 months post op. My recuperation has been going fairly well, after a rough start with a 2nd surgery to repair a leak, then another leak which resolved, gratefully,. Like everyone else, I have had ups & downs.  because of the leaks, my NS did not want me to do any exercises or pt.,but I am finished with all the follow up appointment s. My major issue is the extremely tightness I  continue to feel in the back of  my head, even around into my jaws. Sometimes I can distract myself enough with other activities but it always catches up with me and causes exhaustion. I am wondering if at this point neck exercises would help. Any suggestions?

Thanks, selma:-) no, I have not done ne yet. I I actually just started some heat in the last 2 days and it does seem to relax things but then it tightens up again. As soon as I get out of bed in the am, It is very tight.
Do you still gave a link for the exercises? thanks so much!
