Idk I do know I had that vibration in my left leg & now disc in left hip area is collapsed! Now about 6 months after I just felt weaker on right hip I'm getting the cell phone vibration there. Especially when I stand up!
I have had this condition all my life. My right hip vibrates from time to time for about 3 seconds. The longest has been 5 seconds which scared the daylights out of me. It started when I was a kid but only vibrates maybe once year if I'm lucky. No pain or discomfort just weird feeling!
Hi sandyhya60 and welcome to the Chiari forum.
So, your surgery was not for Chiari, but for an issue with your ankle?
I have not had this until today, 3 months I had surgery. I have a titanium screw in my ankle. This morning I thought my exercise bracelet was left on the bed or something because it has a silent alarm to wake you up. This actually woke me up. I even started to try to see if there was a pattern, (like morse code lol)...anyway, I thought maybe the screw in my bone was receiving signals or something lol. Anyone else?
I have these vibrations as well. Just a few minutes ago, it was in my 'nether regions'. I jumped, because it felt as though my phone was down there on vibrate. It is quick (2-3 seconds), painless and just plain weird. I have an appointment with my NS tomorrow, so will ask him.
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
I am not sure if u have a Chiari DX, but all of us in this forum do, and many of us also have a DX of syringomyelia, or Ehlers-Danlos...these are neuro conditions.
Chiari alone can be responsible for this sensation as it can affect all of our neuro system....
EDS can also cause these tremors too....
Have u been DX'd with a neurological condition?
I also have this mystery vibration, in left hip, shoulder and knee, started noticing 6 months ago at very random times, and since has progressed quickly to daily, several times a day... exactly as many are describing as cell vibration. I was actually just looking to see if it was a side affect to my antidepressant. I am 40, live in Oregon where it rains a lot and over weight, I have kids and go to school full time so am never sitting for too long. I have talked to my Dr. about it and yes, she looked at me crazy as well. Would love to hear anyones ideas or answers.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
Were u dx'd with Chiari Malformation or Syringomyelia? This forum is pertaining to those conditions and related conditions like Ehlers-Danlos, and tethered cord.....many of us have these symptoms as a result of these conditions.
Have u been to a Dr, and had ne testing done....do u have other symptoms other then that vibration?
I would suggest u talk with ur Dr and have some testing done...and keep us posted on ur progress : )
I do have the same simptom but was sporadic, now has become almost permanent, kind of buzzing or like I do have my Cell on Vibration just tied to my belt, but had this issue on both sides of my body, now more pronunciated on my left. Getting real worry about it, I am 53, this started a couple of years back, at small scale. will love to heard from someone how know more about it
I get a vibration feeling, but I would not say it was like u describe, so it may be something different.
Mine feels like a vibration like small bubbles are fizzing...usually in my ankle, or my foot....it is an odd feeling.

It is possible u have a neuro issue and may want to see a Dr for eval.

Welcome to the Chiari forum.
May I ask do u have Chiari? We never did hear back from the original poster of this thread.....DanRavenWolf...so we do not know if he was a chiarian either or how he is doing now.
Please let us know if ur surgery proves beneficial for the vibration.

I have vibrations in my left hip. I have been complaining to my family doc for YEARS (4 or more) of hip pain. I also have low back pain. I went to a different dr last month and he sent me to an ortho surgeon. I have a torn Labrum. I tried therapy without succuess, probably because I have had this injury for years. So tomorrow I go back to the surgeon to schedual surgery.
Everyone that I have talked to about the vibrating all looked at me like I was crazy. I explained it just like you did...it feels like it's a cell phone on my hip, but I don't have one on my hip. And of course no one had answers as to what it could be. Hopefully, it will stop after my surgery.
Both are probably right....muscle spasms are usually caused by a misfiring nerve. I get a lot of muscle jerks and twitches too and everytime I have mentioned it I haven't really got an answer as to why..so I just chalk that one up to my long list of mysterious Chiari symptoms.
I have had this and do still have this a lot. Upon talking to several doctors and a massage therapist no one I talked with has ever heard this from anyone else. they have told me it sounds like either tiny muscles spasms, but my massage therapist who knows how bad my back and neck is feels it is a nerve misfiring. If you ever hear from a medical professional what is causing yours i would love to hear the answer. I know mine can last from a few short minutes to days at a time. It does not hurt but it is very very annoying.

I get the buzzing you describe quite often but I get it in several joints. It is a really weird feeling almost like a little drill or something is poking you... I get a lot of muscle twitches too? Do you experience those?
My theory is that it is the fine muscles around the joint that are spasming.
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
I am not sure, but it sounds like u may not have chiari .....what u found in ur search is a neuro issue many with chiari have and it is not just a lone symptoms but part of many.
Am I wrong and do u have Chiari as well?
It is possible u may want to look into another forum here on MedHelp, but the issues u for us at least are a neuro one as our brainstem is involved.
