bumps under skin on head

My daughter has a significant amount of bumps under her skin on her head and down her jaw.  When you run your knuckle on them they move.  When they are big or there are a lot of them she gets a really bad headache.  Her Chiari surgeon does not have anyone else with them so I am asking if any of you do.  He thinks they may be blood vessels.  She had surgery in Oct 09 and has been feeling much better but the "head poppies" as we call them seem to be getting worse.

Thanks

I just read something on another group about a young lady who has had several of them removed and they were cysts... she indicated that now she had more than 100 of them.  I hadn't heard of that before and then I come back here from there and here this is!

Very odd.  I wonder what would cause them?  You all need to educate us on them!

Blessings!

Thanks everyone, I will look into lymph nodes and muscle spasms.  It is so hard to describe them, they feel like small round pockets that move and pop when you run your knuckle over them.  She has tons of them and if she does not rub them out then her headache is unbearable.

Have you checked if they are Lymph nodes or swollen glands.
I have a small lump midway between my right ear and shoulder witch did not show up on MRI even with contrast. I agree with Carolyn it could be muscle related
My NS feels it is some thing in the muscles of my neck.

I have just ONE, very large one and it's top of my head and was told it's a cyst.  I never did anything with it.  I was told I could go to dermatologist to have it removed.  Since it's more of a skin thing

I'm not sure if it's the same thing or not..I do get bumps on my head and jaw that are very sore when I push on them. However, I am pretty sure that mine are little Spasmed muscles that get sorer as a headache comes on. When I push on them they roll and it hurts but they don't go away. Mine feel more like lines than bumps too..

Another suggestion, after surgery...I had little bumps like that all down my neck...I think that they were small lymph nodes. They didn't feel like normal lumps...sort of like tapioca pudding I guess!!

The weird thing is that the places you describe finding them..are the same places that I get most of the muscle bumps and pain...

Sorry I couldn't be of more help :)

I know I have searched all over the web to no avail.  It could be inter-cranial pressure, her blood pressure is almost always perfect.  It is so uncomfortable and the only relief is to run her knuckles over them to "pop" them even though we don't think it really pops anything just moves them.  But you can feel them all long the top of her head by her ears and now down her jawline.

Hi...at first I thought they may be a fatty cyst.It is something those of us with EDS may get, but what u describe does not sound like those.....

I have not heard of nething like u describe and I could not locate nething on the web....but I wonder if she is experiencing inter-cranial pressure that is causing the blood vessels to buldge....since u say she has a HA when this occurs...have u also checked her BP?
