cat scan results

neck...there is a cystic structure at the level of the hyoid bone, but below the hyoid bone extending through the hyoid region.   impression:  irregular cystic structure in the anterior midline of the neck just below the hyoid bone, with i suspect represents a thyroglossal duct cyst.
chest...small giatal heria is found.  the lungs are clear except for some bullous disease in the right apex.
abdomen...there is retroperitoneal adenopathy.

on the endoscopy today, he did take a biopsy due to inflamation.  he took a picture of the areas for me...it looks red and leathery compared to the other parts.

any thoughts on all this?

yes, it is in the right apex of the left lung only, so far.  the dr. said nothing about treatment, but i guess that might have something to do with the fact that he's a gastro guy and i guess they don't do that sort of thing.  who knows...i don't think i'll feel comfortable until i see an oncologist about the other stuff, though.

the biopsy of the esophagus came back negative.  YEAH!  my dr. wants to talk to the radiologist before he comments on the retroperitoneal adenopathy, so don't know anymore on that.  sent me back to the ent for the cyst...go there on the 20th.  the bullous disease is emphazima from smoking.  never thought it would get me this early in life!!  that's what i get for playing the odds, i guess.

No nippen Lizzy...honest I saw something and now I cannot find it...but I read that a genetic condition described as A1 something could result in the bulbus disease especially in smokers.....ugh...I wish I could locate that article...I will keep looking.

Hi Lizzy...sorry no ad I did look...only thing I understand is it could be genetic and the smoking exacerbated the condition...the bulbus one...but look into the A1Al...or something like that....I will look again, but that is what I feel is what the issue is.....

thanks for your support k and ray.  i can't seem to find much information at all on the  retroperitoneal adenopathy...only that causes of it are hepitis (been tested, don't have) or non hodgkins lymphoma.  either of you find anything else?
as for the cyst, i have to have it surgically removed...can't hide that zipper!!!  lol  right in the center of my throat!!!  maybe i'll tattoo a zipper pull on that one!  lol!

Hi Lizzy, like selma I am lost here. I did look up the conditions described in the report but it is all very confusing to my little brain. I did see one thing though, have you been tested for EDS, there are some connection between this and bullous lung disease.

Sorry that you have to deal with this and some other personal issues at this time, you are strong and will get through this, remember you are not on your own.
