Ur friend is lucky to have someone like u advocating for them ....we do have a list of drs that members add their chiari dr to....u need to research the dr...just bcuz the drs name is on the list does not mean they r a chiari specialist, just means they have treated chiari.....it is also not meant as a referral...just a starting point.
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Chiari-Malformation/LIST-OF-CHIARI-SPECIALISTS/show/1293483 Notice there r not chiari drs all over, so ur friend may have to travel.....so they will have to check with their insurance as well, and we do have a page in out Health Pages called Links...it has links to non profit orgs that will fly a patient free to a location of r a dr visit as well as surgery....there r several chiari drs that have local lodging for patients at very discounted rates near their locations to help defray costs for out of town patients.
If there is nething else we can help with please let us know.
