medicines

Hi... can anyone tell me what they use for medicines... I don't react well to the typical meds they prescribe for Chiari... My main pains are headaches, neck pain, hand pain.   I've heard of people using excederin migraine.. I have been taking advil for several months and would like to stop taking it... if I could find a replacement.  What anti depressants has anyone had success with?  Also.  how is everyone dealing with the medical bills?  Is there a way to get support somewhere because we have a disability?  Has anyone used the pronex?  How did you like it, would you recommend it, did it help the pain?

My doctor recently prescribed KeppraXR for my seizure disorder and migraines. (However, one side effect is headaches??).  It also helps lesson (not stop) some of my CM symptoms...pain, numbness, tingling, and stiffness in my legs, arms, neck and shoulders.  I also use Relpax, as needed, for migraines (which has been on a daily basis for the past week..so much for the KeppraXR).  Relpax is the only thing I have found in the past 8 years that works (it turns my migraines back into plain old headaches).  I am still trying to pay my medical bills on my own...I constacted five organizations that assist with medical bills...all said they are no longer able to help...donations are down.  What is 'pronex'?

Pronex is a device you use to lift your head up, that's the only way I can describe it.  The neurologist at TCI suggested that I use it, but it is not cheap... thank you for all the information about what you use for pain.                        Michellle
