polyneuropathy?

I was diagnosed with bilateral sensory Neuropathy in my lower legs and feet back in 1994.

I have had many nerve conduction study's done over the years with little change.

I had a nerve conduction study done on June 2011. The results state a generalised reduction in motor and sensory amplitudes consistent with a axonal sensorimotor polyneuropathy
There is also "Slowing of median conduction across both wrists consistent with additional moderate bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome.
Diabetes fasting glucose screening and autoimmune screening are normal.
I started on B12 injections because of low levels detected last week, they were within acceptable parameters prior to this.

My problem with this result is not so much the Neuropathy but the finding of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in BOTH wrists at the same time as changes in the Neuropathy. Is this to much of a coincident?
My NS & NL are at odds with each other on these findings My NS feels the Neuropathy is due to the Syrinx and other abnormality's in my cervical/thoracic spinal cord but my NL dose not and wants me to have decompression done for the CTS......I have declined the CTS decompreion surgery for now.......

Now who are you again and what are you doing outside my window at this late hour lol....

Well I did not understand just how important these minerals and vitamins are (despite your best efforts to educate me about them in the past). Because of the findings of low B12 I did some reading up on it and it is scary how it impacts on our health.

We could maybe include info on minerals and vitamins on our health pages or somewhere like that???

Glad to see with Chiari u did remember me telling u about my TT experience....they also said I had CT as well...hmmmm now that I was dx'd with EDS I think much of  the pain I get is from that and not CT.....

Well Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeello there!!

It is kinda odd and with the changes as well in the Neuropathy got me thinking.
I remember you telling me about the TT some time ago and it helped me to decide to question this whole CTS finding.
Have we info on here about vitamins and minerals? lol me an my memory......

Hi stranger....well this is some news.....hmmm kind of odd both wrists would be affected at the same time....

U remember I was told I have carpal tunnel bcuz I had tarsal tunnel which I had surgery for, and the reason I had to start using a cane in 2000.....and the Dr that did my EMG said I never had tarsel tunnel and it was the chiari  that made it appear like it was TT but was not...so I had a surgery I did not need that resulted in the surgeon messing up my ankle even more.

I understand u had the testing, but chiari along with low levels of B12  and other vitamins and minerals can affect how we feel, plus u have a syrinx which can have an affect more likely then the TT dx...JMHO
