Hello and welcome,

It may not be a fever butllike Selma said it can be the way the signals are scrambled from the compression.  I had similar thing happen while in the hospital.  My legs all theough I could move but not control, the lower part of my right leg would feel colder to me alot of the times.  But when I had the nurses check they would say if felt normal.  When asked the coctor about it was told it was the nerves feeling a new highway.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

IMHO I feel it is possible for this to happen or feel like it is just on one side....as it affects all aspects of how we function.....the signals of how and where pain is felt or where u r hot go thru the spinal cord which is compressed due to the Chiari and other related conditions like a syrinx....
