stress and chiari

dose stress play a big part with recovery! I am 4mo post op of decompression and it seems as though every time i get stress or find myself doing to much i get bad spasms from my shoulders up to the neck area! what can i do to relieve this

    Stress totally effects me different i am so glad I have such a laid back personalty .. my thing is the house work.   Having to let it wait.. I am so happy to pay someone to do it  cant  very often but when i can its nice

  Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.

Yes indeed stress will affect how u feel...I am just about 2 yrs post op and know that I can not deal with stress the same ne more..it causes pain all over.

As for doing too much, don't...u r in the early stages of recovery and need to relax...use heat wraps on ur neck and shoulder area and do the exercises for post op patients......

U will have some symptoms crop up as u heal and that is typical of the healing process.....and u do have to do things in moderation to avoid feeling poorly.
